ANTIGONISH, NS – Tony’s Meats Ltd., based in Antigonish, Nova Scotia is pleased to announce the company has been purchased by the senior management team. This team includes Dan MacGillivray, General Manager; Aaron Tingley, National Sales Manager and Lenita Hanson, Operations Manager.

Herman Berfelo, Past-President of Tony’s Meats Board of Directors said: “As a result of the Senior Management Team’s demonstrated dedication and commitment to the business going forward, I am absolutely supportive of this team and their efforts to position Tony’s Meats as the premier meat brand in Atlantic Canada and beyond.”

In 2007, Tony Overmars retired and sold the Company to a small group of farmers who wanted to see the business continue to bring employment and opportunity to Nova Scotians. Over the past number of years, Tony’s Meats has further solidified its market position by expanding its product offerings and achieving SQF certification under the Global Food Safety Initiative.

Tony’s Meats goes national with Mr. Donair

Antigonish’s Tony’s Meats recently announced Mr. Donair will be available in every province, thanks to a new agreement with Giant Tiger.

“Their main retail base is Ontario and Quebec,” said Aaron Tingley, part owner and sales manager for Tony’s Meats.
